Meeting the Standard

What does the standard require?

Section 4 CCTV system design and installation

4.4.5 Tamper

All external detectors must report tampers and as such tamper circuits should be continuously monitored.

With the PCX-128VID, all CCTV zones and CCTV line fail zones are protected with Double End Of Line (DEOL) resistors

4.4.7 Event logs on site

Event log for minimum of 6 months or until after the next maintenance visit

PCX-128VID has a more than ample log with up to 2000 events which can be stored at any one time.

Section 6 Site operational procedures

6.1.2 Local setting/unsetting outside the secure area

- setting device should be tamper protected
- CCTV status (set/unset)should be clearly indicated at setting point
- When using a portable ACE (Ancillary Control Equipment) to set the system the setting /unsetting should only affect from within the field of view of the camera in the CCTV system

PCX-128VID has an External Proximity Reader with an IP65 rating which is also completely tamper proof. On the exterior casing there are 2 LEDs which clearly indicate the status of the system when a valid Proximity Card is presented to the Reader. The PCX-128VID can enable the system to be divided into 8 fully independent partitions and 15 sub partitions

Section 8 RVRC operator procedures

RVRC needs to verify intrusion before taking action

In the event of an activation by an external detector, the PCX-128VID, via its relay outputs enables the Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC) / Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) operator to take control of the appropriate CCTV camera to view the area and verify if an intrusion is taking place before taking the appropriate action.
