PSI Premier Awards: Outstanding Contribution to the Security Industry

The 2010 PSI Premier Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Security Industry was received by Julie Kenny CBE DL which was accompanied with the following press release from PSI.

Julie Kenny is managing director of intruder alarm manufacturer Pyronix, as well as being a director of Security Holdings and the BSIA. She received a CBE in 2002 for services to industry in Yorkshire and Humberside, and in 2006 was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Sheffield Hallam University.

Julie Kenny has served as chairman of the Security Equipment Manufacturers' Section on the BSIA on two occasions, and is currently the Association's vice-chair. She has also worked tirelessly with many of the security industries' committees and bodies to promote a more professional industry.

Outside of the security arena, she is involved in many bodies including Yorkshire First. She was the first woman president of Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, and currently is involved in community work to inspire young people to work in manufacturing, and mentoring them to achieve business success.
