MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As the IT Support Technician, you will provide effective IT support across all aspects of the business and on occasions provide backup and assistance to other members of the department. The position is responsible for supporting our end users who will be working both within office environments and remotely.

In addition you will be required to troubleshoot, maintaining and deploying hardware devices to our end users, and support key applications and services that are used widely in the business. At times you will also be liaising with our technical colleagues at Hikvision to identify and resolve issues which impact our end users and other technical issues.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 1st Line SupportInvestigating technical issues on site either face to face, via phone or e-mail
  • Issues will need to be fixed or reported quickly and professionally and where necessary escalated to 2nd line support
  • Providing a positive and professional level of customer service
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Setup and installation of new equipment – desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices
  • Ensuring best security practices are applied to end user devices and providing helpful advice on this to end users where required
  • Ensuring all registers for equipment, software and users are maintained
  • Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware / software
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Troubleshooting software issues such as Microsoft Office
  • Undertaking small sized projects as instructed by the IT Infrastructure Manager
  • Patching of end user equipment into the network
  • Logging, Managing and Resolving support tickets as they are logged on our ITS

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS NEEDED

Essential

  • Experience working as part of a team preferable on a helpdesk
  • Knowledge and Experience using and troubleshooting Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Applications
  • Experience in working as part of a team and can contribute ideas and express themselves
  • Driven and capable individual with a high work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Able to communicate to internal Pyronix staff providing a high level of customer services with a courteous, helpful and proactive nature
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Disciplined and well organised

Desirable

  • Experience working as an IT Helpdesk Support Engineer
  • Proven track record of meeting company SLA and internal KPI’s
  • Career aspiration in IT with a eagerness to study towards a recognised certification
  • An understanding of Active Directory and Group Policies
  • An understanding Network connectivity
  • Experience working with Apple devices and OS X
  • Previous experience deploying new computer hardware with Imaging Software
