History

May saw the completion of the acquisition of Pyronix Ltd by Hikvision, the world's largest supplier of surveillance equipment. The next generation of security supplier was born, the Total Solution Provider.

We opened a brand new state-of-the-art factory on the Hellaby Industrial Estate, Rotherham. In 2015 we also launched our lifestyle solution with the HomeControl+ App and PyronixCloud, which allows complete control over your security system from anywhere in the world on your smartphone.

In 2014 we returned to IFSEC for the first time in five years to preview our all-round security, home automation and video solutions. We also returned to Sicurezza, Italy - tripling the size of our stand.

We launched the Invincibell external sounders, the Enforcer won it's third award, as well as launching the GSM module for the Enforcer.

In 2012 Julie Kenny became the High Sheriff of South Yorkshire. Such a position is given by the Queen. The Enforcer was named the ‘Innovation of the Year’ at the ‘Oscars of the Security Industry’, the Security Excellence Awards, a fantastic accolade for the product.

Our 25th anniversary saw us launch the Enforcer two-way wireless system and the XD10TT-AM, one of the most reliable outdoor detectors on the market.

We became the first manufacturer to introduce a sounder using backlit diffuser technology.

We received a patent for a non-overlapping detector and optical system.

We opened a new Distribution centre and R&D facility in Rotherham as we launched the TMD confirmed detector. We also pioneered the use of EOL resistors while being the first to incorporate blue LED's into our detectors rather than traditional red.

We won the Best International Achievement Award at the Security Excellence Awards 2004, for being the first UK security firm to be awarded the China Security and Protection Certificate. We also expanded Secure Holdings with the acquisition of Castle Care-Tech.

In 2003 we gained CCC (China Compulsory Certification) Approvals, becoming the first non-Chinese manufacturer outside of China and only the fifth company worldwide to receive this.

Julie Kenny was awarded a CBE in the New Year's Honours lists for her services to industry, while we won the overall IFSEC Security Industry Award for the Veritec sequential confirmed detector.

We won Manufacturer of the Year in the Security Industry Awards in 2001 and commenced sales operations in Italy and Poland.

We launched the Matrix control panels in Export, while we welcomed HRH Duke of Kent to the factory as Vice Chairman of British Trade.

In 1999 we launched the innovative BG2000, which went on to become one of the top selling glass break detectors ever.

We started development of our own microwave module and won the DTI Export Awards for SME's.

We expanded our operations as we acquired a component design company. The Equinox won an award for the patented anti-masking technology still in use today. We remain the only manufacturer to protect both the PIR and Microwave elements from masking.

We achieved various patents for our sounder technology and were the first security equipment manufacturer in the world to have all products CE marked. We also won at the IFSEC awards for the Equinox CCDA (covert camera with PIR and audio circuit).

Our new offices on Hellaby Industrial Estate were opened by MP Charles Wardle as we expanded our factory, installed the first Comet pick-and-place machine in Europe, launched our first sounder (the Decibell) and patented a fault monitoring detection device.

Our first control panels, the Paragon range, were released, many of which are still active in homes today.

The Equinox combined technology detectors made an impact in the market, whilst we also achieved BS5750 and ISO9001. Julie Kenny, then Pyronix MD, became the first ever female Director of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA).

By 1991 we decided to move our marketing focus from the UK to export and as a result export sales increased from 5% to 18%.

We implemented Surface Mount Technology, only the 3rd security manufacturer to do in the world. We launched the Enforcer Plus, with a unique custom chip design.

Our first product and the world's smallest PIR of its time, the Enforcer.
