Pyronix is a world-leading manufacturer of electronic security equipment for use in residential, commercial and industrial applications in the intruder alarm market. We design a wide range of multi-award-winning wired and wireless intruder alarm solutions, utilising market-leading technologies developed exclusively by our in-house R&D team.

THE ROLE:

Manage the progress of and administer to projects within the R&D/Engineering department in Pyronix. Work closely with major stakeholders in the business to develop and deliver requirements, and support the Programme Manager and Head of R&D to build resilience in timelines and mitigate against risks effecting project activities.

FTC Contract- 18 months with the possibility to extend or make permanent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and own new product introduction projects and the involved product lifecycle stages
  • Manage the setting and development of project scope, definition of deliverables, and the agreement of success criteria amongst the relevant stakeholders, as well as the leading of reviews periodically throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage project schedule through Microsoft Project to ensure visibility of deliverables and allow for accurate progress updates
  • Manage project risk and issue profiles, monitoring, analysing, reporting and escalating issues independently
  • Manage tasks across cross functional teams inside and outside of R&D/Engineering to ensure business alignment with and understanding of project deliverables
  • Act as a main point of contact for cross-functional teams on project matters
  • Oversee technical documentation completion and ensure visibility of critical technical challenges within project delivery
  • Administer project components and tasks within the company’s JIRA, product lifecycle management, quality management and ERP systems
  • Work with the Head of R&D and the Programme Manager to drive efficient communication, process adherence, and stakeholder engagement

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

Essential

  • Background in project management within a technical industry (Engineering; Software; Technology)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, from junior staff to board level
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of project methodology (Waterfall; Agile; Hybrid), to meet the needs of a diverse technical team
  • Problem solving aptitude
  • Have an excellent work ethic and be self-motivated.
  • Microsoft Office competence – Word; Project; PowerPoint; Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships with all levels, ability to work as part of a team

Desirable / Non-Essential

  • Experience working in consumer electronics and/or new product delivery
  • Experience working in mass production environments
  • Experience working with completely digital/software projects
  • Experience in working in a standards driven industry
  • A professional qualification (PRINCE2; APM PMQ/P)
  • Basic knowledge of electronics
  • A valid passport and ability to attain working visas in operating regions (EEA & China)
