Technology Focus: Two-way wireless

Pyronix’ multi-award-winning two-way wireless technology delivers installation ease and superior security, with full supervision and anti-jamming features.

Each Pyronix two-way wireless device is both a transmitter and a receiver. This ensures messages are received by each device, in real-time, while 128-bit wireless encryption ensures the signals transmitted by the system are protected and any code-grabbing is prevented. This provides the wireless system with a very high level of protection.

The high sensitivity antenna of Pyronix two-way wireless devices delivers a wireless signal range of up to 1.6km in open space. This utilises Gaussian Frequency Modulation (GFM) to spread the signal, while reducing unwanted noise and harmonics, which enables Pyronix two-way wireless devices to meet stringent European, ETSI and other worldwide standards.

Installation could not be easier either, with the ability to fit devices without running cables, drilling through walls, lifting floorboards, or rearranging furniture. Signal Strength Indicators (SSI) show the wireless transmission signal strength from the device, without having to refer back to the panel, while One-Push-To-Learn enables it to be learnt onto the system with a push of a button. This makes installation easy and fast.

This has a multitude of advantages, as it maximises the reach and ease of expansion for the security system, as well as the ability to upsell by adding security for retrofit installation, which increases flexibility and profitability that otherwise would have been time consuming and costly.

The Pyronix two-way wireless peripherals’ battery life is also extended with Instant Two-Way Device Control (ITDC). Thanks to ITDC, when the system is armed, the device is instantly and constantly awake and when the system is disarmed, the device sleeps. This setup delivers enhanced security with increased battery life.

With a wired device, should the cable connecting it to the panel be damaged or cut, the panel would recognise this and go into fault. So, to replicate this, Pyronix two-way wireless technology employs full supervision. This feature enables the control panel to constantly supervise the device, to ensure there are no issues and that it is in complete working condition. Meanwhile, if any jamming is detected, the panel will go into jamming alarm and notify the user or, if the system is connected to one, the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). This delivers the most superior security and reliability.

Pyronix two-way wireless technology is efficient with an attractive and extensive range, without compromising on security and reliability.
