Pyronix is a world-leading manufacturer of electronic security equipment for use in residential, commercial and industrial applications in the intruder alarm market. We design a wide range of multi-award-winning wired and wireless intruder alarm solutions, utilising market-leading technologies developed exclusively by our in-house R&D team.

Working within our research and Development function, you will provide a key interface between the design and supply chain teams to facilitate new products into production and manage obsolescence challenges within existing ranges.

To be successful in this role you should have experience of working in a fast –moving and technically demanding environment and be able to demonstrate experience of:-

  • Managing and maintaining a component approval process and database(s), including consolidation and improvement.
  • Ideally have experience of systems driven by Windmill  PLM
  • Support engineers with the identification of component parts required for new/existing product designs and manufacturing
  • Based on their approval, create parts within the company’s parts system and maintain their status within.
  • Supplying component information/status to all areas of the business, managing data accuracy from internal & external
  • With Procurement, initiate and maintain supplier relationships to manage samples, pricing, technical specifications and external
  • Manage parts from specification, ensuring their approval status and coordinating availability within the product stage & gate development process, through to implementation for volume
  • Find alternative sources and component parts, evaluate and approve in conjunction with the Design Engineer and Change
  • Proactive in component cost reduction
  • Manage component/part obsolescence through knowledge of supply base.

Do you have?

  • Technical experience in one or more of the following commodities; Electronic (Digital, Analogue, RF, Passive), Mechanical and
  • Product lifecycle Management system experience
  • Good knowledge of supply base and preferred
  • Computer literate in MS Office Applications as well as experience of gated electronic process flow systems, and MRP systems (SAP).
  • Education to degree-level or engineering-related (Mechanical or Electrical) qualification.
  • Experience of working within an electronic design & volume manufacturing environment.
