MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To ensure that all SMT machinery and equipment is operated, maintained, cleaned and kept running in an effective and efficient manner to produce quality products.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Deliver to the production plan and be able to explain any deviations from targets.
  • To efficiently set-up, operate and change over the SMT line as per relevant procedures.
  • To ensure that all products are built in accordance with operating instructions and drawings.
  • To oversee batch management and shift performance with completion of the shift report.
  • To inspect and rework to good practise.
  • Knowledge and awareness of key SOP’s including H&S/RA awareness and to deliver this knowledge in own standards and in training others.
  • Ensure appropriate material control at all times practically and systematically. Participate in stock takes as required.
  • Undertake weekly Maintenance tasks and assist in monthly tasks when required.
  • CI reporting/investigating, including critical spare checks and document control awareness. Take part in lean initiatives within the department. Improve and maintain 5S philosophy within SMT.
  • Assist in SMT programming and preparation for trial builds.
  • Able to work in a flexible three shift system and to work in other departments when production requires.
  • Carrying out preventative actions and prioritising workload to suit unforeseen situations
  • Report any underperforming production runs, e.g. rework/timings, to SMT Engineer.
  • Factory key holder.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED

Essential

  • Experience of working on SMT line machinery and/or production line
  • Excellent Communication and time management Skills
  • Soldering, recognition and inspection experience (IPC-A-610)

Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of SAP
  • ASM (DEK), Fuji NXT/AIMEX, BTU Reflow, AOI or similar experience
  • Risk Assessment / Health and safety knowledge
