Test Engineer (Mobile Application Focus)

Main purpose of the job

The main focus is to manually test mobile applications on real mobile devices, through development and at the final stage pre-release alongside the Product Test Manager, this will include:

• Installation Testing
• Functional Testing
• Compatibility Testing
• Usability Testing
• Performance Testing
• Security Testing
• API Testing
• Interruption Testing
• Web Application Testing

Another key area for this role is to test and approve all new product hardware and software, before handing over to the Product Test Manager for final approval, sign off.

1. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS NEEDED

Essential

• Electrical / Electronic training and or experience.
• Understanding of mobile applications, technology and installation with this being a key part of the position.
• An ability to grasp technical concepts and new product functionality quickly.
• Competent with the safe operation of powered tools.
• Ability to use industry standard test equipment.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Respond to requests from Product Test Manager and R&D Director as required.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office.
• Full-UK Driving license required for offsite support work.

        Desirable

• Knowledge of Intruder Alarm systems.
• Agile development software (JIRA).
