The KX range of wired and wireless detectors have the choice of being installed with a ceiling or wall bracket to deliver the best coverage possible for the area.
Step-by-Step InstructionsEven though most PIRs will not false alarm when installed facing windows, it is still not the best practice to do so. Wherever possible, face away from the window or any direct sunlight. It's just one less thing to worry about!
This may seem obvious, but blocking the PIRs view with objects such as a bookcase, shelving or high racking in a warehouse will dramatically impact the performance of the detector. Place in a location where it has a nice, clear view of the area.
When installing a detector, make sure the customer won't have any moving objects in the room. If they're going to let pets roam free or have an automatic hoover operating whilst the alarm is armed, pet tolerant detectors or perimeter defence are better options.
To clean the exterior of the detector, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives, as they may contain chemicals which can damage plastics and/or affect the performance of the detector. Under no circumstances should the internals of the detector be cleaned.
